# Champion job-change follow-up: reach past champions at their new company

Source: https://mcpforgtm.com/recipes/champion-job-change (StackMCP, independent directory of official MCP servers)

## Goal

SDRs and AEs who want to hear when a past champion or customer contact moves to a new company, and reach out while the move is fresh. LeadIQ can be swapped for UserGems, and HubSpot for Salesforce, Attio or Pipedrive.

## Connected tools

- LeadIQ: https://mcp.leadiq.com/mcp (setup: https://mcpforgtm.com/tools/leadiq)
- HubSpot: https://mcp.hubspot.com (setup: https://mcpforgtm.com/tools/hubspot)

## Guardrails

- Read only until I approve. Don't create or change any HubSpot record without my approval.
- Check my LeadIQ credits first, and look up emails only after I approve.
- Skip anyone whose company didn't change, and any new company that already has a HubSpot owner.
- Search HubSpot by domain and email before creating a company or contact.
- Write notes as text only. Never send email.

## Steps

1. Check my LeadIQ credits. Then show me job changes in the last {days} days for my tracked contacts from {list}: name, old company, new company, new title and new company website. Skip anyone whose company didn't change.
2. For each person, find their old company in HubSpot and tell me how we worked with them (deal stage, closed-won or churned). Then search HubSpot for the new company by website domain and list any owner. Don't change any records.
3. For the people I pick, find their new work email with LeadIQ only after I approve it. Then write a short congratulations-and-intro note to each, mentioning what we did together. Show me the text only. Don't send anything.
4. After I approve, create the new company and the contact in HubSpot and associate them. Show me exactly what you'll create first, and skip anything that already exists.

## Expected output

Job changes found, CRM check and one draft note. Example (all names fictional):

```
LeadIQ job changes from your tracked contacts, last 30 days: 4.
| Person | Was | Now | HubSpot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sam Whitlock | Quarry Lane Analytics (fictional), champion on a closed-won deal | Head of RevOps, Tidewell Robotics (fictional) | No company record |
| Alex Rivera | Fernhill Software (fictional), user | Sales Manager, Mossgate Labs (fictional) | Company exists, owner Priya Raman. Skipped |
| Dana Okafor | Larkspur Freightworks (fictional), economic buyer | Same company, new title | Not a job change. Skipped |
Draft note to Sam (text only, not sent):
Subject: Congrats on Tidewell
Hi Sam,
Saw the move to Tidewell Robotics. Congratulations. It was good working with you on the forecasting rollout at Quarry Lane.
If the Tidewell team is looking at the same problem, I'm happy to share what worked. No pressure either way.
Jordan
Waiting for approval: create company 'Tidewell Robotics' and contact 'Sam Whitlock' in HubSpot. Nothing has been created yet.
## Watch for
- A title change read as a job change: A promotion inside the same company isn't a new account. Compare the old and new company domain, and skip anyone whose company didn't change.
- Duplicate records in HubSpot: The new company may already exist under a slightly different name. Search HubSpot by website domain and by the person's new email before creating anything, and show the matches.
- Stepping on another rep's account: The new company may already have an owner. List the owner and skip the account, or ask that owner first, instead of reaching out yourself.
- Outreach to someone who wasn't a fan: Not every past contact was a champion. Check the HubSpot history (closed-won deals, notes, or a churned account) before drafting, and drop anyone tied to a bad outcome.
