# Feature launch email: a draft for the customers who asked

Source: https://mcpforgtm.com/recipes/feature-launch-email (StackMCP, independent directory of official MCP servers)

## Goal

Marketers and customer success people who want a launch note for the customers who asked for a feature. You read the release notes in Notion, find the requests in Intercom, and after you approve, create a HubSpot segment and a marketing email draft. Nothing is sent. Notion can be swapped for Airtable if the notes live in a base, and an EU-hosted Intercom workspace uses Intercom EU.

## Connected tools

- Notion: https://mcp.notion.com/mcp (setup: https://mcpforgtm.com/tools/notion)
- Intercom: https://mcp.intercom.com/mcp (setup: https://mcpforgtm.com/tools/intercom)
- HubSpot: https://mcp.hubspot.com (setup: https://mcpforgtm.com/tools/hubspot)

## Guardrails

- Read only in Notion. Don't create, update, move or trash pages, and don't add comments.
- Read only in Intercom. Don't add internal notes, and don't create or update Help Center articles.
- Show me the request table and the HubSpot match before any segment exists.
- Create the segment and add contacts only after I approve, and only the contacts I approved. Don't create new contacts.
- Create the marketing email as a draft only after I approve the copy. Don't send it, and don't publish a page or a blog post.

## Steps

1. Search my Notion workspace for the release notes page about {feature}. Read that page and quote the lines that say what shipped, what is not in this release, and who it is for. Don't change anything in Notion.
2. Search my Intercom conversations, contacts and companies for people who asked for {feature}. Show a table with contact name, email, company, conversation date and a short quote from the customer. Drop any row that doesn't quote the request. Leave Help Center articles and conversation notes alone.
3. Search HubSpot for those email addresses. Show who is already a contact, who is missing, and the company on each contact record. Don't change any records.
4. Show me a segment draft named {segment name} that includes only the HubSpot contacts I keep. Create the segment and add those contacts only after I approve it. Don't email anyone, and don't create contacts for people who aren't already in HubSpot.
5. Draft the marketing email here from the release notes and the quotes I kept. Every benefit has to be a line on the Notion page. After I approve the copy, create it in HubSpot as a marketing email draft. Don't send it, and don't publish it.

## Expected output

Requester list, segment draft and email draft, nothing created yet. Example (all names fictional):

```
Feature: shared saved views
Release notes: Notion page 'October launch notes'
Shipped, quoted from that page:
- Team members can open a saved view
- The owner can lock the filters
- A scheduled email of a view is not in this release
Intercom: 4 conversations
| Contact | Company | Date | Quote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dana Okafor, dana.okafor@larkspur.example | Larkspur Freightworks (fictional) | Aug 12 | "Can I share a saved view with the ops team?" |
| Sam Whitlock, sam.whitlock@quarrylane.example | Quarry Lane Analytics (fictional) | Sep 3 | "We need locked filters so reps don't change the shared view." |
| Priya Raman, priya.raman@mossgate.example | Mossgate Labs (fictional) | Jul 19 | "Shared dashboards would stop us exporting to sheets." |
| Jordan, jordan@fernhill.example | Fernhill Software (fictional) | Sep 28 | "Any way to email the dashboard every Monday?" |
Left out: Jordan. The quote asks for a scheduled email, and the release notes say that is not in this release.
HubSpot:
- Already contacts: Dana Okafor, Sam Whitlock, Priya Raman
- Missing from those three: none
Segment draft (not created): 'Asked for shared saved views'
Contacts to add after approval: 3
Marketing email draft (not created):
Subject: Shared saved views are live
You asked to share a saved view with your team. That shipped. Locked filters shipped too. A scheduled email of a view did not, so this draft doesn't mention it.
Segment to choose if you send it later from HubSpot: 'Asked for shared saved views'.
Nothing was created in HubSpot. Nothing was sent.
```

## Watch for

- A conversation that shares a word but isn't this feature: Require a quote that names the feature or the problem the release notes describe. Drop rows that only share a word, and drop requests for something the page says is not in this release.
- A requester who isn't a HubSpot contact: Match on email. Leave anyone without a HubSpot contact out of the segment. A segment adds records, so this recipe doesn't create contacts.
- The email promises something the release notes don't say: Every benefit in the draft needs a quote from the Notion page. Delete any line that doesn't have one, including rounded numbers and features the page lists as not shipping.
- An empty Intercom search on the wrong region: Claude's directory connector covers US-hosted workspaces. If your workspace is on app.eu.intercom.com, use Intercom EU. Using the wrong region's endpoint fails after Allow. AU-hosted workspaces are not supported, so an empty search there won't be fixed by switching.
