# Pipedrive pipeline review: top deals and the ones with no next step

Source: https://mcpforgtm.com/recipes/pipedrive-pipeline-review (StackMCP, independent directory of official MCP servers)

## Goal

Account executives and sales managers on Pipedrive who want a weekly pipeline review without clicking through every deal. You get the open deals ranked, the ones with no next activity or an overdue one flagged, and, after you approve, follow-up activities and notes added in Pipedrive. Everything runs inside one connector, so it works in a chat app with no setup beyond the Pipedrive sign-in.

## Connected tools

- Pipedrive: https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp (setup: https://mcpforgtm.com/tools/pipedrive)

## Guardrails

- Read first. Don't create, edit or delete anything in Pipedrive until I approve the exact list.
- Never move deal stages, change deal values, mark activities done, or delete records.
- Create only the activities and notes I approve, and only on the deals I approve them for.
- If email sync is off, say so. Don't guess what the last email said.
- Keep the summary here as text.

## Steps

1. Get my Pipedrive account context and list the pipelines and stages. Show me the pipeline names and wait for me to pick {pipeline} and the owner {owner}.
2. List the open deals in {pipeline} owned by {owner}. For each deal show the organization, stage, value, expected close date, and the next planned activity. Mark a deal when it has no planned activity, or when its next activity is past due and not done. Don't change anything.
3. Rank the top {top_n} deals by value and stage. For each of them, read the email messages linked to the deal if email sync is on, and add the date and one line on the last email. If there are no synced emails, say so instead of guessing.
4. For every deal that needs a next step, propose one activity: the type, the date, the contact, and a one-line subject. Show the list as a table and wait. After I approve it, create only the activities I approve and add a short note to each of those deals saying why. Don't move stages, change values, or mark anything done.
5. Give me a short summary I can paste into my weekly update: open count, total value, the top deals, and the deals that still need a next step. Keep it here as text.

## Expected output

Pipeline review for one rep, nothing changed yet. Example (all names fictional):

```
Pipeline: New business. Owner: Dana Okafor. Open deals: 14, total value $186,400.
Top 5 by value and stage:
| Deal | Organization | Stage | Value | Next activity | Last email |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fleet rollout | Larkspur Freightworks (fictional) | Proposal made | $42,000 | Call, Nov 3 | Oct 27, pricing question |
| Site licenses | Quarry Lane Analytics (fictional) | Negotiation | $31,500 | None | Oct 14, no reply since |
| Ops pilot | Mossgate Labs (fictional) | Demo scheduled | $24,000 | Demo, Oct 30 | Oct 25 |
| Renewal plus seats | Fernhill Software (fictional) | Proposal made | $18,900 | Follow-up call, Oct 21 (overdue) | Oct 20 |
| Starter plan | Birchway Clinics (fictional) | Qualified | $9,600 | None | No synced email |
Needs a next step:
- Quarry Lane Analytics: in Negotiation with no activity planned and no reply in 15 days.
- Fernhill Software: the follow-up call on Oct 21 was never marked done.
- Birchway Clinics: no activity and no email history.
Proposed activities (not created):
- Quarry Lane Analytics: call Sam Whitlock, Oct 30, 'Confirm the redlines and the signer.'
- Fernhill Software: reschedule the follow-up call to Oct 31 and leave the old one open for you to close.
- Birchway Clinics: email task, Nov 1, 'Send the two-line recap and ask for a discovery call.'
No deals, activities or notes were changed.
```

## Watch for

- A deal flagged as having no next step when it has one: Pipedrive counts only planned activities on the deal. If the next step lives in a calendar or an email thread that isn't linked to the deal, check before adding a duplicate activity.
- Last-email lines that are empty or out of date: The email tools need a connected email sync. If the deal shows no messages, the table should say 'No synced email', not 'no contact'.
- Activities created on the wrong deal or contact: Read the proposed table row by row before you approve. Each row should name the deal, the organization and the person.
- Not all tools show up in the chat app: Pipedrive says Claude may not load every tool by default. If the email or activity tools are missing, refresh the tools list in the connector settings.
