SalesQL has an official hosted MCP server at https://mcp.salesql.com/mcp. It uses OAuth 2.1 (authorization code with PKCE, S256, and dynamic client registration) or an MCP key (Authorization: Bearer) over Streamable HTTP. Agents can use: filter lookup, people search, person enrichment.

Connect SalesQL without code

SalesQL's docs confirm it works in Claude and ChatGPT. You don't need a terminal or a config file. Check SalesQL's docs first: some vendors give you a personal URL or an API key to use in place of the plain endpoint.

Claude (web and desktop app)

If SalesQL shows up when you browse connectors in Claude, connect it from there instead. That skips steps 2 to 4.

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it “SalesQL”, paste the server URL https://mcp.salesql.com/mcp, and click Continue.
  4. Review the sign-in settings Claude detected and click Add.
  5. Click Connect and sign in to SalesQL. Then ask Claude something like “What can the SalesQL connector do?”

On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web. Each person then connects it from Customize → Connectors. Free plans can add one custom connector.

ChatGPT

If SalesQL has its own plugin in ChatGPT's directory, install that instead.

  1. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins.
  2. Select +, then Add custom MCP server. If you don't see it, your plan or workspace settings may not allow custom servers, so ask your workspace admin.
  3. Enter a name and description. Under Connection, paste the server URL https://mcp.salesql.com/mcp.
  4. Set up sign-in, read the warning, and select I understand and want to continue.
  5. Select Create as a plugin. In a new chat, type @ and pick SalesQL.

From SalesQL's docs: Add https://mcp.salesql.com/mcp and approve the consent screen. OAuth needs no key to paste. An MCP key can be sent as Authorization: Bearer instead. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code (GitHub Copilot agent mode) each have steps. On Claude Team or Enterprise, a member cannot add a custom connector, so an owner adds SalesQL for the organization. ChatGPT setup is on the web. Person enrichment spends 1 credit per matched contact. An unmatched lookup spends nothing. The MCP docs say people search, company enrichment and the account check are free. The pricing page says CSV, API or MCP enrichment costs 1 credit per enriched row or call. Company enrichment is not confirmed as free. The MCP server and the REST API share one credit balance and one rate limit.
