Feature launch email: a draft for the customers who asked

This recipe uses the official Notion, Intercom and HubSpot MCP servers, and all of them work in Claude. Steps that write, send or spend credits wait for your approval.

Who is this for?

Marketers and customer success people who want a launch note for the customers who asked for a feature. You read the release notes in Notion, find the requests in Intercom, and after you approve, create a HubSpot segment and a marketing email draft. Nothing is sent. Notion can be swapped for Airtable if the notes live in a base, and an EU-hosted Intercom workspace uses Intercom EU.

What do you get?

Requester list, segment draft and email draft, nothing created yet. Sample output: every company and person in it is fictional.

Feature: shared saved views Release notes: Notion page 'October launch notes' Shipped, quoted from that page: - Team members can open a saved view - The owner can lock the filters - A scheduled email of a view is not in this release Intercom: 4 conversations

ContactCompanyDateQuote
Dana Okafor, [email protected]Larkspur Freightworks (fictional)Aug 12"Can I share a saved view with the ops team?"
Sam Whitlock, [email protected]Quarry Lane Analytics (fictional)Sep 3"We need locked filters so reps don't change the shared view."
Priya Raman, [email protected]Mossgate Labs (fictional)Jul 19"Shared dashboards would stop us exporting to sheets."
Jordan, [email protected]Fernhill Software (fictional)Sep 28"Any way to email the dashboard every Monday?"

Left out: Jordan. The quote asks for a scheduled email, and the release notes say that is not in this release. HubSpot: - Already contacts: Dana Okafor, Sam Whitlock, Priya Raman - Missing from those three: none Segment draft (not created): 'Asked for shared saved views' Contacts to add after approval: 3 Marketing email draft (not created): Subject: Shared saved views are live You asked to share a saved view with your team. That shipped. Locked filters shipped too. A scheduled email of a view did not, so this draft doesn't mention it. Segment to choose if you send it later from HubSpot: 'Asked for shared saved views'. Nothing was created in HubSpot. Nothing was sent.

How long does it take, and what does it cost?

Estimate About 25–40 minutes, most of it checking the request list and the draft.

Assumptions: One feature, one release notes page, a handful of Intercom conversations, and one segment plus one email draft.

Exact credit costs depend on your plan with each vendor. Check the tool pages before a large run.

Which MCP servers does it use?

Every server is confirmed in: Claude

How do I set it up in a chat app?

Every server in this recipe is confirmed for Claude. Connect each one, then paste the prompts below into one conversation.

Developer setup

Auth setup and mcp.json for Claude Code and Cursor
  • Notion: Sign in with OAuth in your client (run /mcp in Claude Code). Do it once interactively, and the client stores and refreshes the token.
  • Intercom: Sign in with OAuth, or pass an API key as a Bearer token for headless use.
  • HubSpot: Sign in with OAuth in your client (run /mcp in Claude Code). Do it once interactively, and the client stores and refreshes the token.

Put this in .mcp.json (Claude Code, project root) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (Cursor). Swap the example keys for your own, and don't commit real ones. Remove the // comment lines if your client requires strict JSON.

Step-by-step prompts

  1. Search my Notion workspace for the release notes page about {feature}. Read that page and quote the lines that say what shipped, what is not in this release, and who it is for. Don't change anything in Notion.
  2. Search my Intercom conversations, contacts and companies for people who asked for {feature}. Show a table with contact name, email, company, conversation date and a short quote from the customer. Drop any row that doesn't quote the request. Leave Help Center articles and conversation notes alone.
  3. Search HubSpot for those email addresses. Show who is already a contact, who is missing, and the company on each contact record. Don't change any records.
  4. Show me a segment draft named {segment name} that includes only the HubSpot contacts I keep. Create the segment and add those contacts only after I approve it. Don't email anyone, and don't create contacts for people who aren't already in HubSpot.
  5. Draft the marketing email here from the release notes and the quotes I kept. Every benefit has to be a line on the Notion page. After I approve the copy, create it in HubSpot as a marketing email draft. Don't send it, and don't publish it.

Can I run it on a schedule? (optional)
